Shoppers World Brampton/RioCan

Visual Arts Brampton thanks Shoppers World Brampton profusely for the daily exposure their mall provides to our group. Since June 2004, Shoppers World has been the home of Artway Gallery, our primarily exhibit area where we've had at least 43 exhibits (as of Jan 2009). The mall has been home to the Fridge Front Gallery for youth art since April 2005, and World Art Gallery since late 2006.

They've supported the arts in general through events like an annual Arts Week in the late-1980s, and since 2006, the Looking Up to the Arts event. We've participated annually in each, as well as many other community events that the mall has hosted.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation/La Fondation Trillium de L'Ontario

An agency of the Province of Ontario, they are "proud contributors to building healthy, caring and economically strong communities by supporting projects that improve the quality of life."

Visual Arts Brampton received a grant from the organization in early 2003. These funds went to computer equipment, including computers, printers, scanners, cameras, software, networking, a projector, etc. A 2008 grant has let us upgrade to laptops for further instruction, as well as purchase the equipment to shoot video workshops, which we will release for free online, as vablearn.

The Brampton Guardian

Since our foundation in 1986, the Guardian has covered our events and exhibits in its pages. Visit The Brampton Guardian on the web at www.northpeel.com

Kaneff Properties

Visual Arts Brampton's original home was a City-owned building; the group wanted to expand by renting two units instead of just one, but wasn't allowed to rent more than one unit at a time. This, plus high rent rates, sent the group looking for new locations. Kaneff Properties has been extremely generous with their rates, and our Creative Studios have been in the Bartley Square Mall since 1992 (17+ years).
