Programs are adapted to the grade level(s) being taught, most programs available from grade 3 to 12. Based on curriculum elements, they can be connected to your classes' specific units.

All materials and use of tools are provided. Schools also receive a copy of Visual Arts Brampton's ABC Fun Things book for their library, featuring art by 26 area artists.

Classes run for 2 hours, and cost $5 per student.

To book your workshop, phone (905) 453-9142, and ask for Keith, or email the group at visualartsbrampton@gmail.com.

Book artist and illustrator Keith Moreau to come to your classroom, demonstrate a medium, then let your students explore it themselves under his guidance.

Available workshops

Block printing
Scratchboard
Coloured pencil

The white line drawing medium of scratchboard lets your students have a creative experience like no other.

In his scratchboard workshop, Keith encourages students discover how they can easily scratch away a black surface off a white-clay coated cardstock to create works of art. After showing his portfolio, Keith demonstates to your students the methods used to reveal the white to create their own drawing.

MATERIALS (PROVIDED)
• Scratchboard card
• In-class use of scratchboard tools.

While coloured pencils generally are thought of as something to colour geography maps with, Keith can show your class how the medium is so much more, and can be used to create fine art.

In his coloured pencil workshop, Keith shows examples of his work, talks about colour use, demonstrates colour blending, and shows techniques with the pencils, including achieving textures.

MATERIALS (PROVIDED)
• Cardstock
• In-class use of coloured pencils, one pack of 36 per student
